HANOVER – A 17-year-old youth was charged with fourth-degree criminal mischief on Friday.
At 8:58 p.m., deputies responded to Angell Road for a report of a disorderly person. An investigation showed the youth had allegedly punched holes in the wall and destroyed other property during an altercation. The youth was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
KIANTONE – Jose DeJesus, 29, of Providence, R.I., was charged with driving while intoxicated, driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher, moving from lane unsafely and driving without a license on Saturday.
At about 4:05 a.m., Sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 60 for a traffic violation. The operator was identified as DeJesus and upon further investigation, was allegedly found to be intoxicated. A check of DeJesus’ Rhode Island driver’s license showed that his privileges to operate a motor vehicle had been suspended.
DeJesus was taken into custody and later arraigned. He was then committed to the Chautauqua County Jail on $2,000 cash bail or $4,000 property bond. He will appear in Kiantone Town Court.
State Police at Collins
EVANS – Troopers arrested 23-year-old Garrett Beaver of Seneca Road in Lawtons for seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance following a traffic stop on Eden-Evans Center Road on Friday.
Troopers stopped the car Beaver was riding in for an inadequate exhaust and found that both he and the driver had only New York state learners’ permits. Troopers also found a small amount of cocaine in the glove box of the car, which Beaver took ownership of.
Beaver was processed at the Collins State Police barracks and is due in Collins Town Court later this month.
