Dorothy K. Kinner
Dorothy K. Kinner, 90, a resident of St. Columban’s on the Lake Retirement Home in Silver Creek, formerly of Fredonia, died Tuesday morning (Sept. 10, 2013) at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk.
She was born Jan. 31, 1923 in Dunkirk, the daughter of the late Albert and Sophie (Franskowiak) Cybart.
A lifelong area resident, Mrs. Kinner had been employed by the G. C. Murphy Store, Buffalo Press, Loblaws and Sidey’s Department Store.
She enjoyed crafts, animals, cooking, baking, gardening, reading and especially spending time with her family and friends.
Dorothy was a former member of the Dunkirk Women of the Moose Lodge #294 and an honorary member of the Twilighters Craft Club.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn (David T.) Lewandowski of Dunkirk; one son, Ernie (Gail) Gens of Florida; nine grandchildren, Richard (Dawn) Meyer and his children, Shawn, Nick, Lauren, Kayla, Madison and Jake, all of Georgia; Scott (Sabrina) Meyer and his child, Sarah of Georgia; Melissa (John) Robertson and her child, Paige of South Carolina; Randy Gens and his children, Joshua, Keshia, Christopher, Brandi and Randy; Todd Gens and his children, Michael, Tiffany and Matthew; Kevin (Sandra) Gens and his children, Corey, Kyra and Kayleigh; Kimberly Gens, Joseph Majka, and Jayson Majka and his children, Jordyn and Kyler; and 10 great great grandchildren. Also survived by stepchildren, Bill (Sally) Kinner of Ga.; and his children Jennifer Kinner, Chad Kinner and Josh Kinner; Randy (Janice) Kinner of Dunkirk and his children, Jennifer Dominguez, Renea Kinner and Becky Kinner; step-grandchildren Cindy (Ray) Coniglio, Linda (Bill) Dowdell and Dan (Amy) Lewandowski; and several nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Gens; second husband, Robert Kinner; two stepsons, Dennis Kinner and Robert Kinner Jr.; two brothers, Robert Cybart and Richard Cybart; and stepgrandson, David J. Lewandowski.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial which will be celebrated Saturday morning at 9:30 in the chapel at St. Columban’s on the Lake, 2546 Lake Road, Silver Creek. Burial will be in Willowbrook Park Cemetery. Calling hours will be held Friday from 3-7 p.m. at the McGraw-Kowal Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Columban’s on the Lake or the Lakeshore Humane Society, 431 East Chestnut St., Dunkirk, NY 14048.
