Silver Creek nets two late goals to take down Catt-Little Valley

SILVER CREEK – Facing a 1-0 deficit at the half, Silver Creek scored two goals in the final 20 minutes to defeat Cattaraugus Little Valley in Friday’s CCAA Central League matchup. Matt Gostomski opened the scoring for Cattaraugus. From there it was all Silver Creek. Nate Serio scored the tying goal on an assist from Mike Feldman. The game-winning goal was scored by Derrick Catalano. Mike McCarthy assisted on the game winner. Adam Klajbor made 8 saves to earn the victory in goal.

North Collins 3, West Valley 0

NORTH COLLINS – After being deadlocked in a 0-0 tie at the half, North Collins (2-1, 2-0) scored three goals in the second half to defeat West Valley (1-3, 0-2) 3-0 in a CCAA Central League boys soccer matchup Friday. Kyle Loretto scored two of North Collins’ second-half goals while Vincenzo Giancaspro added a goal and an assist in the victory. Mason Gurnbull made six saves to earn the shutout.

Pine Valley 3, Cassadaga Valley 2

CASSADAGA VALLEY – Pine Valley picked up its first win after a three-year hiatus as the Panthers (1-2) edged Cassadaga Valley (0-4) in Central Division boys soccer on Friday.

Twelve minutes in, Jaren Johnston scored an unassisted goal for Pine Valley and Alex Kelly scored as Tyler West assisted for the 2-0 lead.

The Cougars’ Kyle Ruge nailed an unassisted goal to make it 2-1, but Sam Lingenfelter scored for the Panthers with West assisting. Ruge then scored his second unassisted goal of the game for Cassadaga Valley.

Russell Hayes had 12 saves for Pine Valley in the win while Reeze Bly had 10 saves for the Cougars.

ECIC Division 2

Maryvale 2, Lake Shore 0

CHEEKTOWAGA – Lake Shore (3-3, 1-2) fell to Maryvale, 2-0, Friday during ECIC Division 3 boys soccer action.

Justin Brackna scored both goals for Maryvale with assists going to Eric Green and Jacob Braymiller.

Lake Shore will be back in action on Monday when it travels to take on Cheektowaga in another divisional matchup.
