Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church events
Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church on Main St. in Cherry Creek will hold a Swiss Steak Dinner on Saturday, Sept. 21 beginning at 4:30 p.m. The cost per meal is $10 for adults and $6 for children. Family pricing is available. Each meal includes a beverage and homemade dessert.
On Saturday Oct. 12 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., the Cherry Creek/Leon United Methodist Church on Main Street in Cherry Creek will hold a fall outdoor pig roast and flea market. Vendor spots are available. Call 338-8429 or 450-0820 for more information.
St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish announces fall events
On Sept. 14, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish will celebrate the 38th anniversary of the merger of the former Sacred Heart and St. Mary’s parishes in 1975. The celebration will begin with a Mass of Thanksgiving at 4 p.m. in the church, followed by a dinner in the parish hall. Invitations have been sent to all parishioners, former priests and others.
On Sept. 21, the parish will hold its annual Harvest Roast Beef Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. in the parish hall, located in the school building on the corner of Fourth Street and Washington Avenue. The menu consists of roast beef with gravy, mashed potatoes, carrots, beets, squash, sliced tomatoes, rolls and butter, homemade pies for dessert and beverages. Adult dinners are $9, and children’s dinners are $ 6. The meal is served family style, and also includes a themed basket raffle. This event will benefit SEAS Parish and all are welcome.
Mt. Carmel plans Festival of Grapes bake sale
Mt. Carmel’s annual Festival of Grapes bake sale will be held Sunday, Sept. 22 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Mt. Carmel auditorium on Central Ave. in Silver Creek. Coffee will be available. Co-chairpersons of the event are Joan Kerley and Pam Mullen. Donations for the event may be dropped off on Saturday, Sept. 21 from 4 to 6 p.m.
Grief Support Group to begin at local church
An opportunity to begin healing after the loss of a loved one will be offered at the Fredonia First United Methodist Church at 6:30 p.m. starting Sept. 30. This time will be dedicated to giving members a chance to express their feelings in a confidential, supportive and understanding atmosphere. The next meeting will be Oct. 7, after which meetings will be closed to new members to maintain privacy and continuity for existing members.
