SOUTH DAYTON – Faculty and staff at the Pine Valley Elementary School came back to school this year to find not every piece of the school ready for occupancy. The parking lot was not completely finished when school started the first week of September.

At a recent board meeting, Superintendent Pete Morgante said the parking lot was going to receive a sealing before faculty would be allowed to park on the parking lot. Morgante said the lot will not have a final sealing due to further construction work yet to be completed. Once all construction vehicles are done at the school, the parking lot will be sealed.

Morgante also said the district was asked to approve change orders for extra drainage and for extra boulders to be put in place at the receiving doors, and to fix cracked sidewalks.

The board also approved Kathleen Adduci, Stacey Raiport and Lisa Szumigala as substitute teachers and accepted the resignation of Tim Nobles as modified girls basketball coach. The board of education also approved the goals for the 2013-2014 school year and the annual professional performance review plan for the current school year.
