Brocton American Legion Post 434 Wednesday Evening Men’s League: All teams wore green and a moment of silence was observed in honor and memory of Brocton football player, Damon Janes and all deceased league members.

A playoff of the four teams finishing with the most team points was held with the team of Dave Willebrandt and Pat Swanson winning the league championship. In second place was the team of Scott Jagoda and Roger Miller, third place went to Mike Sheehan and Nick Speziale and fourth place went to Jay Beers and Brandon Presto. A banquet and award ceremony followed at the club house with awards going to the following players: Hole-in-One: Dick Maggio; most eagles: Jon Esperson, Jeff Thomas, Scott Jagoda, Gary Arnold and Dave Holser with one each; Most birdies: Pat Swanson 14; Most pars: Swanson and Jagoda 69; Most bogies: Jeff Thomas 70; Most Improved stroke average: Kris Kane; Most team points taken in one match: Bob Kaus and Dave Travis; Most individual points taken in one match: Kaus; Most individual points taken in the season: Nick Speziale; lowest stroke average for the season: Pat Swanson.

Members are reminded that golf will continue on Wednesday evening as long as the weather permits.

CVCS boosters to help raise

money for Damon Janes’ family

In memory of Damon Janes, the Cassadaga Valley football boosters are selling bracelets and T-shirts from Brocton at their concession stand during today’s game.

There will also be a donation bucket in Damon’s memory.

Then, on Friday, Sept. 27, there will be a pep rally at the high school. Students will be asked to donate $1 per plate. Money raised will also be donated to the Janes family.

Fredonia Little League

Fredonia Little League will be holding elections of officers on Sept. 24, at 7 p.m., at the American Legion Fredonia Post 59, 156 E. Main St., Fredonia.

BJ’s 11, Dom Polski 4

Goals for BJ’s were tallied by Mark Zaffalon (3), Mike Nelson (2), Don Schiedel (1), Brian Wojcinski (2), Tom O’Connor Sr. (1) and Tom O’Connor Jr. (2). Assists were credited to Andrew Wheelock (2), Zaffalon (2), Nelson (3), Wojcinski (2), Ron Friend, Joe Dunn (2) and O’Connor Jr.

Tony Manzella netted two goals for Dom Polski while Nick Sliwa and Byron VanZile each had one. Assists went to Spencer Koeppel, Nick Stott (2), Brandon Renkens, Garrett Boner and Tony Manzella.

CCHA B League

The Pick UPS 4, Coughlans 0

Tyler May, Mike Gzyl, Jason Rossieu and Mike Gzyl each scored a goal for The Pick UPS. Brandon Neporowski, Garret Wrap and Nick Machelski were credited with assists.

Dave Stefaniak earned the shutout between the pipes while Chris McCracken was the losing goalie.

CCHA C League

Lakeview Shock 3, Coughlans 0

Brian Lillie was credited with the shutout for Lakeview Shock.

Mike Korzeniewski tallied two goals and Tony Privitera had one for the winners. Assists were awarded to Joe Harris (2) and Jason Coloson.
