Poet to be at city school

Jaime “Shaggy” Flores, a New Nuyorican poet, will be performing at SUNY Fredonia Wednesday night at 8:30 in McEwen Hall room 202. The multicultural affairs department is bringing him to campus for Hispanic Heritage celebration.

The poet will be visiting Dunkirk High School form 1 to 2:30 p.m. to talk and interact with students. He also will be speaking to parents from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m.

Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association meeting today

The Chautauqua County Antique Equipment Association will hold its regular monthly meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 24 at the Club Grounds. The meeting begins at 7 p.m. All members are urged to attend.

Ghost tour tickets running out

The last fund raising ghost tours to benefit the Dunkirk Historical Lighthouse and Veterans Park Museum will be happening soon. There are only a few spots left for the upcoming tours in October. There are two spots available for Oct. 19, and seven spots left for Oct. 25.

Flu shot clinic Thursday

A flu shot clinic will be held Thursday, Sept. 26 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Valley Pharmacy & Medical Supplies, 31 West Main St., Gowanda. This clinic is sponsored by the Cattaraugus County Health Department. The following insurances will be accepted: Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Independent Health, Univera, Fidelis and Medicare-type insurances. Without insurance the cost is $25.
