Safe Driving classes offered in Fredonia and Sinclairville

A class will be held Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge at 321 E. Main St. in Fredonia. The fee (payable in advance) for this one-day class is $17 for AARP members and $19 for non-members. Anyone 18 years and older with a valid NYS license may enroll. Participants will need to bring a bag lunch and beverage for the half hour break at noon. To register call instructor Shirley Erbsmehl at 679-4530. Registration is limited; call soon.

Oct. 21 and 22

The South Stockton Wayside Chapel, 5537 Route 380, Sinclairville, is sponsoring an AARP Defensive Driver class on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 21 and 22 at the church. Cost is $17 for AARP members and $19 for non AARP members payable only by check made out to AARP. Participants must attend both days for the full amount of time to receive an insurance discount. Those wishing to take the course should call 224-3280 to reserve a spot as seating is limited. Participants should bring their driver’s licenses to class and a pen. Plan to arrive a few minutes early the first day. The class time is 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon each day. Anyone finding it difficult to sit for long periods of time may wish to bring a seat cushion.
