Damon Janes car wash benefit today

Mancuso’s Main Street Car Wash, 242 E. Main St., Fredonia will hold a car wash benefit today from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. All proceeds will be donated to family.

Ice skating classes begin Tuesday at SUNY Fredonia

Ice skating classes will be offered at SUNY Fredonia in Steele Hall beginning Tuesday at 6:15 p.m.

Classes will run for 10 weeks and are open to anyone four years old and older. Classes will be offered two days per week – Tuesdays at 6:15 p.m. and Sundays at 1 p.m. – and participants may attend one per week or both.

Figure skating classes will be available on Sundays at 2:15 p.m. for those who are badge level 7 and up. Classes will culminate in a Christmas recital.

Foster parenting info meeting scheduled Tuesday

The Chautauqua County Dept. of Social Services will host an informational meeting for those interested in becoming foster parents on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 6 p.m. at Jamestown Community College’s Training Center, North Campus on Bennett Road in Dunkirk.

Local foster parents are needed for children of all ages. Especially helpful are those willing to accept sibling groups. For more information call 661-8212.

DHS Class of 1964 Reunion Planning Committee meeting scheduled Thursday

The Dunkirk High School Class of 1964 50th Reunion Planning Committee will hold a meeting on Thursday, Oct. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Kosciusko Club in Dunkirk.

Trinity Episcopal Church to hold rummage sale

Trinity Episcopal Church at 11 Day St. in Fredonia will hold a rummage sale on Oct. 4 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Oct. 5 from 9 a.m. to noon.

The sale will be set up in Garland Hall. Shoppers are asked to use the back entrance.

South Dayton United Methodist Church to hold rummage sale

The South Dayton United Methodist Church is having a rummage sale on Oct. 4-5.

On Friday, it will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Saturday, Oct. 5, it will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. A bag sale begins Saturday at noon.

There will be a bake sale both days. The church is located at 328 Pine St., South Dayton.

Ladies Auxiliary sets annual card party

The East Dunkirk Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary is hosting its annual card party on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the East Dunkirk Fire Hall, 10949 S. Roberts Road.

Admission is $3 at the door. Refreshments will be provided.

St. Rose of Lima to hold roast pork dinner Oct. 5

As part of Forestville’s Fall Festival, St. Rose of Lima Church will host a roast pork dinner from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 11 Center St. Each meal includes roast pork, creamy potatoes, vegetables, tossed salad, cranberry applesauce and homemade pie.

Tickets are $9 for adults and $5 for children (child’s portion).
