Alphonse R. Lebel
SOUTH DAYTON – Alphonse R. Lebel, 77, of Mosher Rd. passed away Saturday September 28, 2013, at Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk, NY.
He was born February 1, 1936 in Van Buren, Maine, the son of the late Wilfred and Ida (Michaud) Lebel.
On November 26, 1982, he married the former Meredith Bond who survives.
Mr. Lebel was a veteran having served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed for many years with the San Diego Co. Laborer’s Union in El Monte, CA.
Besides his wife of 30 years he is survived by a stepson Eugene (Alisa) Matteson of Tenn., 2 stepdaughters Roxann Matteson of Cottage, NY and Wendy Gupton of Ken-tucky, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He is also survived by 3 brothers, Albert Lebel of Henrietta, NY, Pipou Lebel of Pacific Coast, CA, and Delano Lebel of Maine, and 5 sisters Bobbie Lebel of Van Buren, Maine, Jeannine Daigle of Lewiston, Maine, Patty Barth of Kentucky and Marlene Reed of Stillwater, OK and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his daughter Michelle Leber, stepson Kenneth Matteson, brother Leo Lebel and sister Theresa Kellum.
A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Disabled Veteran Association.
