Forestville Fire Department to hold chicken barbecue
The Forestville Volunteer Fire Department will hold a chicken barbecue Sunday from noon until sold out at the fire hall on Chestnut Street. The meal will include chicken, red buttered potatoes, fresh squash, salad, a roll and a homemade dessert. Dine in, take out or free delivery is available within village limits.
Presale tickets will be available at the Forestville Fall Festival Saturday. Tickets are $8.50 for adults and $5.50 for children. For preorder or delivery call the fire hall at 965-4106 and leave a message with your name and phone number. All proceeds benefit the Forestville Fire Department.
Silver Creek Village Board meets early Monday evening
The Silver Creek Village Board will meet at 6:30 p.m. on Monday to hear presentations on Complete Streets and new Basic STAR regulations. The regular workshop and meeting will immediately follow the presentations.

Local church to
celebrate first year
in ministry Sunday
Healing Hearts Ministries of Cassadaga will hold a special music service on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. to celebrate its first year in ministry. Music will be provided by bluegrass gospel group The Sprague Family. The Sprague Family is led by Pastor John Sprague of Jesus Way Home Church at 6358 Portage Road in Westfield, and includes his wife, Sharon, son Jeremy and daughters Tonya and Melissa.
There will be a pot luck dinner after the service. Those who are able are asked to bring a dish to pass.

Fall Festival has ‘full house’ of vendors
for weekend event
The Forestville Fall Festival Committee announces a “full house” of vendors at the Forestville Central High School on Saturday and Sunday.
There will be many vendors including crafts, fresh produce and food vendors.
Hours of operation will be Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
There will be children’s activities, antique apprais-als, cider press and pumpkin chucker demonstrations.
The Chili Cook-Off will take place on Saturday at the high school. Name Your Chili, bring in 5-quart.crockpot and enter by noon.
Water bills due today
Hanover Town Clerk Janine Salzman reminds Hanover water customers the last day to pay water bills without penalty is today. Late payments will be charged an additional 10 percent penalty fee.
Payments can be made at the Town Clerk’s office in Hanover Town Hall.
Pomfret to hold budget presentation today
The town of Pomfret will hold a special meeting today at 4:30 p.m. for the purpose of presenting the first draft of next year’s budget to the town board.
