Fredonia, Dunkirk fall in West I Volleyball action

LAKEWOOD – Maddy Alexander had nine assists, seven kills and five aces to help lead Southwestern (10-5, 6-2) past Fredonia (7-9, 3-5), 25-16, 25-19, 25-12, during CCAA West I girls volleyball action on Tuesday.

Also for the Lady Trojans, Sally Rudny had 10 kills, three aces and two blocks, Shaunah Rudny chipped in six aces and Kara Schutte had 15 assists, six kills and three aces.

For the Lady Hillbillies, Emily Ludwig had three aces, three kills and two blocks while Maddy Crandall charted seven assists, two blocks and two aces.

Fredonia won the jayvee match.

Dunkirk 9 13 26

Falconer 25 25 28

FALCONER – Falconer earned its sixth win of the season as the Lady Golden Falcons rolled to a 25-9, 25-13, 28-26 victory over Dunkirk (1-9, 2-14) in West I girls volleyball action on Tuesday

For Falconer (6-1, 6-4), Kalynn Swanson produced 14 assists and 17 aces, Alyssa Brooks added 10 kills and three aces, Kaylei Russell had three kills, one block and seven aces and Erin Roach drilled 12 aces.

Natasha Colon had three aces, a dig and seven assists for Dunkirk, followed by Alexis Clark with nine kills, five digs, a block and one assist, Sarah Kobel added one kill, two digs and two assists and Cassie Sobczak had a kill, two aces, one block and one assist.

Falconer swept all three games for the junior varsity win.

Brocton-Westfield 17 8 19

JAMESTOWN – Becky Rew had 13 assists, two blocks and two aces to help lead the Jamestown Lady Red Raiders (7-6, 6-2) to a three-set sweep of Brocton-Westfield (4-10, 1-6), 25-17, 25-8, 25-19, Tuesday during CCAA West I girls volleyball action.

Kaytlin Haines had eight aces, six kills and a block while Ashley Butman chipped in six kills and three aces.

For Brocton-Westfield, Marissa Okerlund charted seven kills and three blocks while Carson Hauser had 11 assists and two aces.
