Elaine M. Dombrowski, age 85, of Dunkirk, died peacefully, Tuesday morning October 8, 2013, at the Chautauqua County Home in Dunkirk.
She was born May 18, 1928, in Dunkirk, daughter of the late Adelbert and Hattie (Gaszynski) Tuczynski.
Elaine was a retired employee of the former Kraft Foods in Dunkirk.
Her memberships included St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R. C. Church.
Elaine enjoyed time spent with family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are her sons William (Gemma) Douglas, Deer Park, L.I., and John (Linda) Dombrowski of Dunkirk; a brother, Marion (Lorraine) Tuczynski of Dunkirk; five grandchildren Colin Douglas, Troy Douglas, Matthew (Harper) Douglas, Amanda (Willem) Schellen and Kari (Michael) Winn; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah and Lucas Winn, Tyler Keith, Alexander Douglas, Jake and Willem Schellen. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander “Yago” Dombrowski, who died February 6, 2012; a granddaughter, Julie Dombrowski Keith; and brothers Daniel and Edwin Tuc-zynski.
Relatives and friends are welcome to call at the R. Mackowiak Funeral Home Inc., 56 East Doughty Street in Dunkirk on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 12 noon at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton R.C. Church. Entombment will be in the Pieta Mausoleum in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
