Rosary Societies meet at St. Dominic; Blessed Mary Angela churches

St. Dominic Parish

The Altar and Rosary Society of St. Dominic Parish, Westfield/Brocton, met on Sept. 17 for a tureen dinner provided by the members.

A business meeting followed dinner, where a budget and schedule of coming events were presented. A hand-stitched quilt made by several members – soon to be completed – was on display. Raffle tickets will be sold at the upcoming spaghetti dinner, and the hopes are to raffle the quilt off before Christmas. Raffle tickets can be obtained from any A and R member.

All women of the parish, which includes residents of Ripley, Westfield and Brocton, are invited to join and attend the meetings

Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society

The Blessed Mary Angela Rosary Society held a meeting Wednesday at St. Hedwig’s Social Center. President Martha Bialaszewski welcomed all present and led the Rosary and prayers for ill and deceased members.

Rita Szot gave the opening for the meeting.

Father Nycz reminded members about a celebration for Blessed Mary Angela’s Feast Day.

On Thursday, Sister Cynthia shared details of her life and beatification at St. Hedwig’s. On Friday, a Healing Mass was held at St. Hyacinth’s.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, there will be a “Taste of Poland” dinner at St. Hyacinth’s Lyceum.

Secretary Carole Schiller read the minutes from the September meeting. Treasurer Lucille Bartkowski read the financial report. Both were accepted as read on motions by the members.

On Oct. 16 there will be a living Rosary and “pantry shower” for the Felician Sisters at St. Hyacinth’s at 7 p.m. A reception will follow in the Lyceum.

The closing prayer was read by Rose Gawronski. Refreshments were served by Gerry Szukala, Joan Zielinski, Sandra Tapasto and Joyce Tarnowski. Mums and Halloween decorations adorned the tables.

Raffles were held and members played Bingo.

The November meeting will be held on Monday, Nov. 4 at St. Hyacinth’s Lyceum.
