Erie 2 BOCES LoGuidice Educational Center to hold Open House Oct. 16

The Erie 2-Chautauqua-Cattaraugus BOCES will host an open house at the LoGuidice Educational Center in Fredonia on Oct. 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. It will showcase all of the programs housed at the LoGuidice Center and give parents, guardians, and family members the opportunity to meet with the teachers, staff, and administrators. The center is also hosting a chicken barbecue from 5 to 8 p.m. to benefit the LoGuidice chapter of Skills USA. Tickets for the dinner are $8.50 in advance or $9 at the door.

“Each year, we are pleased to open our doors to the community and highlight our unique programs only offered within the E2CCB curriculum and learning environment,” said Jose Pagan, principal at the LoGuidice Center. “Our open house is designed to give visitors an in-depth look at what our students are learning and how they are applying their skills in real-world situations.”

Guests can also enter to win great prizes by picking up a ‘passport’ in the main office and visiting every classroom. Teachers will initial the forms, and completed passports will then be placed in a pool for random prize drawings.

All Career & Technical, Alternative, and Special Education programs offered at the LoGuidice Center will be on display including: Automotive Body Repair, Automotive Technology, Conservation/Natural Resource Management, Construction Technology, Cosmetology, Criminal Justice, Culinary Arts, Health Careers, Small Animal Science, and Welding/Metal Fabrication.

In addition, a number of local colleges and military representatives will be present to answer questions concerning further opportunities for students: Erie Community College, Great Lakes Institute of Technology, Hilbert College, Jamestown Business College, Jamestown Community College, Morrisville State College, SUNY Fredonia, SUNY Alfred State, Triangle Tech, United States Air Force, United States Army, United States Army National Guard, Universal Technical Institute and WyoTech

“Our programs provide great opportunities for all learners, and we encourage everyone to stop in and see what the LoGuidice Center has to offer,” Pagan added.

The LoGuidice Educational Center campus is located at 9520 Fredonia-Stockton Road in Fredonia and serves students from the Brocton, Cassadaga Valley, Dunkirk, Forestville, Fredonia, Gowanda, Lake Shore, Pine Valley, Silver Creek, and Westfield school districts, all of which are component districts of the E2CC BOCES.
