Maple Grove tops Westfield-Brocton
WESTFIELD – Kyle Richardson gained his seventh shutout of the season as Maple Grove went to 9-2-1 in West Division boys soccer and 11-3-1 overall by prevailing over Westfield-Brocton, 2-0, in rainy and windy conditions Wednesday night.
David Meekins, assisted by Riley Beaton, accounted for the first goal at 20 minutes of the first half for Maple Grove.
Beaton had his fourth goal of the season from Meekins at 32 minutes to close out the scoring for the Red Dragons.

West Valley 0
WEST VALLEY – Soggy playing conditions didn’t slow down the Silver Creek Black Knights (7-3-2, 7-6-3) who used two second-half goals to knock off the West Valley Wildcats (6-6, 8-7), 2-0, Thursday in a CCAA Central boys soccer matchup.
Ten minutes into the second half, James Feldmann scored on a long shot that found its way into the net. Nate Serio assisted on the goal.
Alex Loidl put the game away minutes later when Serio set him up with a beautiful crossing pass which Loidl put home on the one-timer.
Adam Klajbor made six saves to record his fourth shutout of the season.
Falconer 8, Dunkirk 0
FALCONER – Rhea Moore had her first hat trick of the season as Falconer rolled to an easy CCAA West girls soccer win on Thursday.
Moore scored three goals and Emma Steele and Amber Micek added two as the Lady Golden Falcons blanked Dunkirk, 8-0, running their overall record to 14-1-1 and to 13-1-0 in the league.
Falconer took a 3-0 lead in the first half with Moore scoring the first two goals from Kelly Keefe at 2:19 and Emma Steele at 6:38.
Steele converted a pass from Andrea Volk at 10:15 to end the first-half scoring.
The Lady Golden Falcons added five goals in the second half.
Jessie Caprino started it off with her first goal of the season from Volk at 2:40, Amber Micek recorded the next two scores at 5:11 and 6:35, both from Randi Greene, to give her eight goals for the season.
Steele came back with her 19th goal of the season unassisted at 14:50 and Moore recorded her hat trick and sixth of the year from Steele at 15:13.
Macey Mays and Liz Dallas combined for the shutout without making a save for Falconer. Amie Kaufman made 12 saves for Dunkirk.
