Warriors blank Panthers

GOWANDA – The Gowanda offense was held scoreless Friday night and the Salamanca Warriors scored two touchdowns for a 14-0 victory in Class C south high school football.

The Panthers were held to just seven first downs.

Walker Cygan was Gowanda’s top rusher with 48 yards on 11 attempts. Lucas Brawdy threw for 69 yards while Chase Williams was the recipient of 51 of those passing yards.

Defensively, Dalton Francis made six tackles.

The Warriors took an 8-0 halftime lead after Jared Fish found James Nye for a 46-yard touchdown strike.

Salamanca put the game away in the final frame as Tyler Siperek scored on an 8-yard touchdown run.
