Silver Creek takes down West Valley

WEST VALLEY – Cora Utegg’s 15 digs and 30 assists lifted the Silver Creek Black Knights (11-7, 7-6) past West Valley (7-11, 3-9), 21-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-18, Friday in CCAA East II girls high school volleyball.

Jordan Brooks and Brooke Birner combined for 27 kills while Birner also had eight blocks for the winners.

For West Valley, Madison Czapla had 10 kills and Kenzie Czapla had 11 digs.

Brocton 20 15 16

BROCTON – The Falconer Lady Golden Falcons (8-6, 8-2) clinched a share of the CCAA West I girls high school volleyball crown with Jamestown, following a 25-20, 25-15, 25-16 sweep of Brocton-Westfield (5-14, 1-9) on Friday.

Alyssa Brooks led the charge with 14 kills, three aces and two blocks. Kalynn Swanson added 15 assists and two aces while Kaylei Russell charted four aces and two blocks for the winners.

The Lady Bulldogs were led by Lindsay Harp’s six kills, one ace and four blocks. Marissa Okerlund added four kills, one ace and two blocks in defeat.

Notes: The Brocton pep band was on hand as part of Brocton’s homecoming weekend.
