Horrigan to place water infrastructure at top of economic development agenda
Chautauqua County Executive candidate Vince Horrigan sees improving water system infrastructure as a top priority for economic development for Chautauqua County.
“I believe it is essential that Chautauqua County has a robust regional water system that can support economic development by retaining, growing and attracting businesses such as food processing companies. My recent conversations with business leaders and elected officials in the northern Chautauqua County area indicate that there is broad consensus that a regional water system is essential,” explained Horrigan.
“Attracting new businesses to Chautauqua County, requires the development and marketing of competitive advantages such as lower cost utilities. Regional solutions to our infrastructure investments give us the most ‘bang for the buck’,” Horrigan said. “At this month’s Public Facilities meeting we will be discussing a resolution to establish the Chautauqua County Water Agency as another step towards achieving this important infrastructure investment in our northern Chautauqua County Chadwick Bay Region.”
