Gowanda stomps out bullying
The Gowanda Elementary School recently showed support for “Blue Shirt Day World Day of Bullying Prevention,” which is the first Monday in October. Wearing their blue shirts sent the message to everyone to end bullying and cyberbullying. Next classrooms competed with School Resource Officer Jen Alessi in a game of “Beat the Bully” which consisted of questions regarding types of bullying, how to respond to bullying and how to help someone who is being bullied. All of the students signed a pledge and made a promise to “Take a Stand against Bullying.” Pictured, from left, sporting their “blue shirt day” shirts and pledges are Elementary Physical Education Teacher Coach Robert Lemere, Elementary Counselor Michelle Hanes, Elementary Physical Education teacher Anthony Puntillo, and students from Mrs. Puntillo’s third grade class.
