Intended accident leads to charges

SHERIDAN – A 19-year-old Dunkirk resident was committed to the Chautauqua County Jail after he allegedly backed into an unoccupied vehicle with intent to cause damage.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, around 6:30 p.m. on Friday, deputies responded to Center Road in the town of Sheridan for a report of a property damage accident.

After an investigation, it was found Dylan Pieszak of South Roberts Road allegedly backed into the parked vehicle and then left the scene of the incident.

Pieszak was issued traffic tickets and charged with leaving the scene of a property damage accident and second-degree criminal mischief. He was arraigned in Hanover Town Court and sent to the county jail in lieu of $1,000 bail.

Accident damages cemetery in Sherman

SHERMAN – A Sher-man woman has been charged following a property damage accident on Route 430 Friday night.

According to the Chau-tauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Samantha Griswold, 24, was driving when she lost control of her vehicle and drove into a cemetery at 11:30 p.m. Her vehicle struck numerous pieces of cemetery property and then struck a tree. An investigation showed Griswold was allegedly intoxicated and had her driving privileges revoked from a previous incident. She was charged with failure to keep right, uninspected motor vehicle, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .18 percent or higher.

Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office

HANOVER – Pamela M. Ramsden, 37, of Derby was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, unregistered motor vehicle, uninspected motor vehicle and unsafe tire Thursday. At 9:43 p.m., deputies observed Ramsden’s vehicle on Alleghany Road and determined the vehicle had an expired registration. During the traffic stop, Ramsden was found to be in possession of an alleged quantity of narcotics. She will appear in Hanover Town Court.

SILVER CREEK – David Sodaro, 55, of Jaekle Avenue was charged with three counts of third-degree menacing Friday. At 8:40 p.m., Sodaro was allegedly making threats to harm his neighbors and his girlfriend while in possession of a metal pipe. He was arraigned in Silver Creek Village Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.

GERRY – Christina Weed, 33, of Falconer was charged with criminally possessing a hypodermic instrument Friday. At 5:30 p.m., deputies found Weed to allegedly be in possession of a hypodermic instrument at a Route 60 address.

Weed was issued an appearance ticket.

SOUTH DAYTON – Daryl C. Emke, 51, of Irving was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to signal a turn Thurs-day. Emke was charged following a traffic stop on Oak Street at 10:23 p.m., where he was found to be allegedly intoxicated. He was re-leased to appear in South Dayton Village Court.
