Grid’s ‘deception’ keeps NRG on hold

Editor, OBSERVER:

What’s with the holdup on the repowering of the Dunkirk NRG power plant? National Grid is a major part of the problem with their own “money” interests and their pushing of their proposed new major substation and cabeling loop near Olean in Cattaraugus County.

These high costs have not been included in any of their proposed costs relating to the NRG issue. Sen. Catharine Young has nailed their deception in an article in Dunkirk’s OBSERVER on Saturday, Oct. 19 on the Opinion page, A4. Other “money” interests are also at work against the fully supported New York interests.

The PSC better get their act together and approve the NRG repowering before any more “money” blocks the best interests of Western New York and New York state. The PSC should also thank Sen. Young for her major influx of information on the state and its people’s interests.
