Remembering the Holocaust
The Interfaith Holocaust Commemoration Committee invites the entire community to join in a Holocaust Remembrance at 3 p.m., at Temple Beth-El, 507 Washington Avenue, in Dunkirk. The event will include readings and prayer, led by Jewish and Christian faith leaders from our community. Following the service of remembrance, all are invited to share in light refreshments.
Falling Leaves Bazaar
The Perrysburg/Dayton United Methodist Church, located on Route 39 in Perrysburg, will hold its annual fall bazaar and roast beef dinner today from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m; each includes a hot roast beef sandwich, green beans, coleslaw and homemade pie. The cost is $7.50 per meal.
Theme baskets, baked goods and candy, plants, decorations, new and used items, and a quilt raffle will be available.
Laona United Methodist spaghetti dinner today
The Laona United Methodist Church will be having a spaghetti dinner today from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The meal will include spaghetti, salad, coffee, tea, juice and dessert. At 6 p.m., pies, assorted baked goods and other items will be auctioned off. All donations will go toward meeting needs within the church.
First Presbyterian Church to hold ham dinner
The First Presbyterian Church at 49 S. Portage St. in Westfield will hold a “Baked Ham Harvest Dinner” on Friday, Nov. 1 from 5 to 6:30 p.m. The cost is $10 for adults; $5 for children 10 and younger. ‘Wish Upon a Star’ Auction
The Epiphany of Our Lord Parish will hold its annual live and silent holiday auction on Friday, Nov. 1 and Saturday, Nov. 2. On Friday, Family Night starts at 5 p.m. and goes until 9:30 p.m. with free admission, activities for the whole family and silent auctions. Refreshments will be available. The “Gala Auction” will be held Sunday from 5 to 10 p.m., with the silent auction kicking off the evening’s festivities. At 6:30 p.m., guests will sit down for a fine dining experience. Reservations are required by Oct. 27; call 532-5185. The cost is $30 per person. Following dinner, a live auction will be open to the public. The Epiphany of Our Lord Parish Hall is located at 10893 Sisson Highway (Route 75) in Langford. Proceeds benefit Catholic educational programs.
Fall Fest and Open House
The Mayville United Methodist Church will be hosting a Fall Fest and Open House today from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is invited to attend. There will be games, pumpkin decorating, bobbing for apples, photo scavenger hunt and cookie decorating. Refreshments of donuts, cookies, brownies, cider, hot chocolate and coffee. Many church groups will have displays of their activities. The church is located at 81 South Erie Street and is handicapped accessible.
Unitarian Universalists explore ‘Awe’
The Reverend Terry Kime will speak on Sunday Oct. 27 at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Northern Chautauqua. She will speak on “Awe,” the theme for the month of October.

Universal Unity of Spirit
Dr. Neal Rzepkowski is the guest speaker for Universal Unity of Spirit’s service on Oct. 27 His topic, “The Wizardy of Good and Evil,” is sure to appeal to Harry Potter fans. All are welcome to attend the interfaith service which begins at 1 p.m. with healing and prayer chaplain service, followed by Dr. Rzepkowski’s lesson at 1:30 p.m. Fellowship and refreshments wrap up the Sunday services at 89 N. Christian concert Sunday in Fredonia
Heath McNease aka Garth Hooks, aka Spliff Wigglesworth, aka The Heath McNasty is joining the youth group Soul Shack and the rest of the Christ Community congregation on Sunday, Oct. 27.
Heath will be bringing his hip hop flare, acoustic folk, quirky improvisations, and Holy Spirit fire along with special guests Free Daps all the way from Orlando, Fla.
Doors open at 5 p.m. The show starts at 6:30 p.m. at Christ Community Church, 219 Berry Rd. Fredonia. Come be a part of this one night event filled with hip hop, dancing, laughter, and praise.
