Fredonia HS to present ‘Pops Concert’ on Wednesday

The Fredonia High School Music Program will present its annual Pops Concert on Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the Fredonia Central School District Auditorium. You will be dazzled by Fredonia’s talented band, orchestra and choral students. Selections will include Bye-Bye Birdie, Shrek, Aladdin, Earth, Wind and Fire, Pirates of the Caribbean and more. Ticket prices are $3 per adult. Students are admitted free of charge.

Friends of the Anderson-Lee Library to meet

The Friends of Anderson-Lee Library in Silver Creek will hold its annual membership meeting on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the library. Officers will be elected. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Family Center at Community Place to hold open house

A new resource is available for Gowanda area children and families. The Family Center at Community Place will hold a special open house from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday. Families are invited to visit the center and learn more about the services and programs available at the Community Place location.

Activities such as recreational opportunities for children, financial planning, services for parents, educational groups, emergency services, counseling services, support groups, and much more will be available at the Family Center in Suite 106.

The special Halloween open house will offer refreshments, treats, informational displays and take home materials. Make the most of Halloween. Join us at the Community Place Family Center, 1 School St., Gowanda for fun!

Town of Collins Democratic Committee meeting

The Town of Collins Democratic Committee will meet Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the community room at the L.K. Painter Center, 2355 Main St., Collins to discuss the Nov. 5 general election. Attendees are asked to park in the rear parking lot. It is anticipated that county party officials and several candidates will be in attendance. All committee members and election inspectors, or those interested in serving in one of those capacities or learning about the political process are asked to attend. Hanover Democrats’ election event Tuesday

The Town of Hanover Democrats will host a Meet the Candidates Event on Tuesday. The event will give the voters an opportunity to discuss the election with the candidates endorsed by the Democratic Party. Join us at 6 p.m. at the Silver Creek VFW.

Donation is $6 and includes Pot Luck Dinner. Plans for the election evening event following the polls closing will be made at the dinner. Call Democratic Chair Diane Hall with questions at 934-4691.

CCIDA board meeting set

In accordance with the New York State Open Meetings Law, the public is hereby being notified that a special meeting of the County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency Board of Directors has been canceled. The meeting was to be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.

A special meeting of the Chautauqua County Capital Resource Corporation Board of Directors will be held at CCIDA, 200 Harrison St., Jamestown, on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in the board room.
