Looking for company
County of Chautauqua Industrial Development Agency and city of Dunkirk officials met recently to discuss joint marketing of Dunkirk Metal Products former 789 Deer St. location in the city.
On Nov. 1 the CCIDA will take title to the property as part of an agreement that aided DMP with the acquisition and consolidation of operations to its new 3575 Chadwick Drive location in the town of Sheridan’s Chadwick Bay Industrial Park.
According to Bill Daly, CCIDA Administrative Direc-tor and CEO, DMP had outgrown its Deer Street location and its recent move allowed the company to streamline two operations into one facility, improve efficiencies and increase sales while retaining 20 jobs and projecting four new jobs.
Describing the Deer Street location Daly said, “Dunkirk Metal has completely vacated 789 Deer St. and the CCIDA will take title to the property on Nov. 1. They left it in great condition with many recent upgrades including windows, heating, lighting and hot water tank which all improve energy efficiency for the new owner.”
The 11,500 square feet Deer Street facility consists of approximately 10,000 square feet of manufacturing or warehousing space and nearly 2,000 square feet of office space.
Daly went on to say, “This is a great location for a new business to Chautauqua County or for a local business looking to expand here.” Daly also said that the CCIDA frequently receives requests for space ranging 10,000 15,000 square feet and that the building’s clear span ceiling heights of 14-15 feet are a plus. In addition shipping and receiving includes two at-grade doors, and the entire facility offers above average curb appeal for industrial space.
Both the CCIDA and the city of Dunkirk will market the property on their respective websites and a marketing flyer is being developed. The space could be available for sale or lease and financing terms are flexible. Steve Neratko, City of Dunkirk IDA Director spoke about incentives saying, “The city has about $200,000 low interest bond financing that could potentially be available to a buyer or tenant.”
Additional sales tax abatements, loan financing and potential property tax abatements could also be available through the city and/or CCIDA. Neratko added that he is very interested in speaking with anyone who would like to discuss economic incentive packages for purchasing or leasing the building, which could include State, County IDA and City incentives.
