SUNY Fredonia’s Latinos Unidos’ annual ‘La Fiesta’ Saturday

SUNY Fredonia’s Latino Unidos, a student group that celebrates the various heritages found within the region’s Latino community, will host its annual “La Fiesta” Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Williams Center Multipurpose Room.

La Fiesta is a semi-formal dinner dance where traditional Hispanic dishes will be served. This year’s theme is “90 Miles to Havana,” and the event will include a short presentation on the history of Cuba’s Revolu-tion and the stories behind the Peter Pan Children who were separated from their families and forced to move from Cuba to Florida.

As part of the Univer-sity’s Days of Service, student organizers ask that participants bring a breakfast food item to be donated for Operation Breakfast Rescue, in conjunction with the Office of Volunteer & Community Services.

All students, faculty, staff and the public are invited to attend this family-friendly event. Tickets are on sale at the SUNY Fredonia Ticket Office. Tickets are $3 for students with a school I.D. and $5 for the general public.
