Pedestrian hit in Seventh Street accident

A Dunkirk resident was transported to Brooks Memorial Hospital Monday evening after being hit by a vehicle attempting to back out of a driveway on East Seventh Street, just west of South Main Street.

According to the Dunkirk Police Department, around 7:45 p.m., Patrick Michalak, 46, of South Main Street was attempting to exit the residence of 637 S. Main St. by using a driveway located on East Seventh Street. Michalak struck a pedestrian on the sidewalk, who was identified as Shaunn Boyd, 33, of Deer Street.

Police confirmed Boyd’s injuries were non-life threatening.

The Dunkirk Fire Depart-ment and Alstar Ambulance also responded to the scene.

Michalak was cited for having an uninspected motor vehicle.

Names released in Cassadaga Lake accident

CASSADAGA – The Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office has released the names of those involved in the vehicle in the Cassadaga Lake accident.

Deputies responded to the scene at 6:23 a.m. Thursday off Dale Drive. It is alleged Nathan Rios, 31, of Jamestown was driving on Dale Drive around 5:30 a.m. when he swerved to miss a deer. Rios and his passenger, Joseph Bowers, 35, of Falconer did not report the accident but called a friend who took them home. Rios was charged with failure to keep right, speed not reasonable and prudent and leaving the scene of an accident. Rios will appear in Stockton Town Court at a later date.

Tamika Thomas, 17, of Park Avenue was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and having an unregistered motor vehicle on Oct. 16.

Martha Rosado, 33, of Columbus Avenue was charged with endangering the welfare of a child Oct. 17.

Danielle Mason, 24, of North Martin Street was charged with six counts of failure to pay a parking ticket on Oct. 17.

Tammra Topliffe, 22, of Ellicott Road, Brocton, was charged with aggravated harassment on Oct. 18.

Carl Mathews, 27, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with second-degree harassment on Oct. 18.

Isai Santiago-Garcia, 28, of Lake Shore Drive East was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance on Oct. 18.

Devin Smith, 21, of Middle Road was charged with second-degree harassment, fourth-degree criminal mischief and first-degree criminal contempt Oct. 19.

Carla Pucciarelli, 27, of Central Avenue was charged with failure to stop at a stop sign, operating a motor vehicle while using a cell phone and having an uninsured motor vehicle on Oct. 19.

Dianne Burgess, 41, of Swan Street was charged with driving while intoxicated, failure to yield the right of way at a left-hand turn, no signal, failure to keep right and move from lane unsafely on Oct. 20.

Joshua Febus, 18, of South Zebra Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and having an obstructed driving view on Oct. 20.

Jonathan Rodriguez, 28, of Webster Street was charged with trespassing on Oct. 20.

Christopher Small, 39, of Wisteria Drive, Fredonia, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property Oct. 21.

Cody Whitehill, 19, of Stow was charged with following too closely on Oct. 23. Shortly before noon at the intersection of Main Street and East Third Street, Jessica Harrison, 25, of Richmond, Ind., was stopped in traffic and was struck from behind by Whitehill. Whitehill stated to police he did not see Harrison’s vehicle in time. Whitehill was driving a Casella Waste Management vehicle at the time of the accident.

Eric Grimm, 55, of Hoyt Street was charged with disorderly conduct on Oct. 23.

Robert Kaczor, 19, of Liberty Street, Fredonia, and Jerry Murphy, 19, of Waterman Road, Forestville, were both charged with third-degree criminal trespassing on Oct. 23.

Niesha Lockett, 22, of Main Street was charged with second-degree harassment on Oct. 24.

Julio Torres, 41, of Dunkirk was charged with third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, failure to keep right and failure to stop at a stop sign on Friday.

A two-vehicle accident occurred on Sunday at the intersection of Lake Shore Drive East and Central Avenue. According to an accident report, shortly before noon, Joshua Kelly, 28, of Beech Hill Road, Stockton, was traveling east on Lake Shore Drive East, approaching the Central Avenue intersection while he had the green traffic light, according to him. Richard Kern, 59, of Johnson Street, Fredonia, entered the intersection while traveling south on Central Avenue from the city pier and into Kelly’s path. The two vehicles then collided. Kern told police he had a green light, as well, and was struck by Kelly. Kelly’s vehicle was a two-axle platform trailer and a three-axle tractor with a full load of 20 boxes of grapes. Skid marks for the tractor trailer measured 55 feet seven inches.

Anthony Irizarry, 20, of Townsend Street was charged with second-degree harassment and trespassing on Sunday.

Aurelio Lopez, 28, of Townsend Street was charged with disorderly conduct on Sunday.

Nicolas Parra-Arredondo, 38, of East Second Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sunday.

Mary Pesser, 55, of Point Drive West was charged with second-degree harassment on Sunday.

Servando Salasar-Sanchez, 17, of East Second Street was charged with possession of an open container of alcohol and possession of alcohol while under 21 years of age on Sunday.

Michael Porter, 42, of Lincoln Avenue was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.

Terrell Ezell, 23, of South Roberts Road was charged with second-degree harassment on Monday.

Terri Moat, 31, of Main Street Upper was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of stolen property on Monday.

Richard Balzer, 50, of Central Avenue, Dunkirk, was charged with criminal mischief, harassment and petit larceny on Oct. 24.

Thomas Moses Jr., 44, of Lakeview was charged with operating a motor vehicle while using a portable electronic device and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation on Oct. 24.

Travis Stursa, 16, of Mayville was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and speed in zone on Saturday.

Peter Mleczko, 22, of East Second Street, Dun-kirk, was charged with disorderly conduct on Sunday.

Donald Wilson, 24, of Orchard Street was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana and smoking marijuana in public on Sunday.
