Becky Jo Summers seeking re-election as Collins Town Clerk
Becky Jo Summers is seeking to retain her position as Collins Town Clerk. She has been endorsed by the Republican Party and by the Erie County Federation of Republican Women.
Summers has lived in the Town of Collins for over 28 years. She has served on the town board, the town of Collins Recreation Commission and was a Springville-Griffith Institute census enumerator. Currently, she is the treasurer of the Collins Center Cemetery Association and the treasurer of the Collins Public Library Board of Trustees.
A member of the National Notary Association, Summers is a notary public, an asset she brings to the office. She is also a member of the New York State Town Clerks Association and the Erie County Town Clerk and Tax Collectors and Receivers Association.
A graduate of Lafayette High School, Buffalo in secretarial science, she continued her education in computer programming and graduated from the International Data Processing Institute in Buffalo.
Her work background has its foundation in office management and bookkeeping with M&T Bank, Andorra Display and Florists Inc. and Batavia Greenway, Inc. A bookkeeping position at the Everywoman Opportunity Center brought to her the experience of working with and forming government budgets.
She has been a member of WNY Gas & Steam Engine Association since 1968 and has served as its treasurer since 1980 and was editor of their newsletter from 1981 through 2004. She has also volunteered as an assistant Girl Scout leader.
She will continue to update office procedures to maintain the professional quality of the office and work with the town board and all departments.
Becky Jo and her husband, Charles, live at their Route 39, Collins Center home. Their son, Charles Jr., is in the Navy and he and his wife, Stephanie, live in Maryland.
