Brocton man in Gerry accident Saturday was allegedly drunk

GERRY – A 44-year-old Brocton man was handed several charges after a traffic stop Saturday evening in the town of Gerry.

According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Raymond Dotson was charged with driving while intoxicated, aggravated driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content greater than .18 percent, possessing an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle and failure to stop at a stop sign.

Shortly before 7 p.m., deputies were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident on Nobles Road. Upon arrival and through an investigation, deputies identified Dotson as the driver of the involved vehicle.

Deputies allege that Dotson was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition and did arrest him for DWI.

Dotson was processed and later released with traffic tickets. He will appear in Gerry Town Court at a later date.
