Crossing closures will take place in Portland over the weekend
PORTLAND – Town of Portland officials were notified Thursday of several railroad crossing closures scheduled to take place within the town beginning Friday, November 8.
According to Town Supervisor, Dan Schrantz the town was notified of closures for the purpose of crossing repairs at the following CSX crossings: Pratt Road; Forest Avenue; Walker Road; Onthank Road and Pecor Street.
Repair work is expected to last from Friday until Tuesday November 12 and the supervisor reminds drivers, especially emergency responders, to use caution as traffic is re-routed and to allow for extra travel time while routes are detoured.
He also reminds the public that the town offices, as well as the Village of Brocton offices, will be closed Monday in observance of the Veterans’ Day holiday and will reopen Tuesday. Any and all utility emergencies within the town or village should be reported as normal.
