County Board of Health meeting Nov. 14
The Chautauqua County Board of Health will hold its meeting on Nov. 14 at 6 p.m. in the HRC Building, 4th Floor Conference Room in Mayville. Anyone seeking further information or wishing to attend this meeting should call the Public Health Director’s Office at 753-4590.
Turkey parties planned for Stockton Fire Company fundraiser
Stockton Volunteer Fire Company on Route 380 in Stockton invites the public to attend its annual fundraising Turkey Parties on Nov. 15 and Nov. 23. These events start at 8 p.m. and offer free refreshments including popcorn, sandwiches and cold beverages, along with a chance to win a huge turkey for a door prize. These are usually over 20 pounds. Stockton is the only fire company in the area to offer large fresh – not frozen – dressed birds as prizes. Come out and support this area fire company and take a chance on winning a great turkey or two for Thanksgiving dinner.
County Planning Board to meet Tuesday
The Chautauqua County Planning Board’s monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday at 4 p.m. at the Gerace Office Building, Room 333, at 3 N. Erie St. in Mayville.

Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club to meet Monday
The Dunkirk-Fredonia Lions Club will meet Monday at 6 p.m. at the White Inn in Fredonia. Sally Minchener of the Chautauqua Blind Association will discuss client services, teaching techniques and equipment use for the blind. The public is welcome to attend. Sheridan Memorial VFW Post 6390 to host Vets’ Day breakfast
The Sheridan Memorial VFW Post 6390 will host a Veterans Day breakfast on Monday from 7 to 10:30 a.m. Any veteran is welcome to attend with his or her family. The Veterans Day ceremony will begin at 11:05 a.m. The Sheridan VFW is located at 2556 Main Road (Route 20).
Silver Creek Audit meeting canceled
The Silver Creek Village Board meeting on the audit scheduled for Thursday, Nov. 7 was canceled due to unforeseen circumstances. The meeting will be rescheduled for a date to be announced.
