JBC Leadership Launch begins
JAMESTOWN In partnership with Assemblyman Andy Goodell, Jamestown Business College recently welcomed select seniors from Chautauqua and Cattaraugus county high schools as part of its 3rd annual Leadership Launch series. The five-session program, which will conclude on Oct. 30, is designed to provide these students with interactive opportunities to hone their leadership skills.
Session I kicked off with a meet-and-greet networking opportunity, a leadership discussion with Assemblyman Goodell, and concluded with a team building activity. The remaining sessions will provide these students with challenging lessons facilitated by JBC staff, faculty, and a professional trainer.
JBC President David Conklin welcomed Assem-blyman Goodell and the participants to the campus.
“We have top-notch students participating in this year’s program,” he said. “It’s energizing to spend time with such a talented and ambitious group.”
Assemblyman Goodell was very complimentary of JBC and its leadership program.
“JBC has a great reputation for providing high-quality college courses that prepare students for a successful future in the community. Its leadership program provides outstanding students with practical and effective leadership skills. JBC is certainly a tremendous asset for our community.”
The students will continue with the program when they meet to participate in an interactive training designed to address the requirements of effective communication for leadership. Other training sessions will focus on leadership effectiveness, accountability, creating a great first impression, and a discussion of the “Fred Factor” in exceeding expectations and providing distinguished service and value.
