Former local resident graduates from D’Youville chiropractic program

Alana M. Hens Flitt, DC, graduated recently from the Dept. of Integrated Holistic Health Studies, Doctor of Chiropractic Program of D’Youville College in Buffalo. A graduate of Northern Chautauqua Catholic School and Fredonia High School, she graduated summa cum laude from State University of New York at Fredonia in 2009 with a degree in biology. She is a member of Golden Key International Honour Society and Beta Beta Beta National Biology Honor Society, and was listed in “Who’s Who Among American College Students.”

While pursuing her Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Flitt completed clinical internships at UB Neurosurgery, Erie County Medical Center, Buffalo Spine & Sport, and D’Youville Chiropractic Health Center. She successfully defended her thesis “Presenting Conditions of Pediatric Patients to Chiropractic Clinics, A Survey of Parents” in April, 2013. She was the 2013 recipient of the D’Youville Award for Outstanding Academic Achievement and Professional Leadership in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program. She is certified in Graston Technique, a reparative soft tissue technique which is used to treat muscle injuries, spasms and tension.

Flitt, the daughter of Matthew and Mary Jane(Maggio) Hens of Fredonia and daughter-in-law of Frank and Nancy (Pasierb) Flitt of Dunkirk, resides in West Seneca with her husband, Michael, and infant son, Brayden. She has accepted a position with Universal Chiropractic in West Seneca and is currently accepting new patients.
