Rob Strickler had a pair of goals to lead Wicked Glen while Brian Denea added the team’s other goal. Denea added a pair of assists while Bill Clark and Jim Azzarella added a helper each. Mike Barrett was in net.

For the Falcons, Matt Nickle scored twice while Ryan Simon lit the lamp once. Assists went to Matt Murphy (two) and Rick Simon. Bernard Jakiela was in net for the Falcons.

Coughlan’s was led by goals from Wes Buehler, Tucker Krauza, Dan Westin, Matt Traniello and Jim Rozen. Assists were credited to Rozen, Westin (two) and Justin Jakubowicz. Chris McCracken was between the pipes.

Joe Furhman scored a pair of goals to lead the Pick-UPS while Mike Gzyl, Joe Hallmark and Nick Michalski scored a goal each. Michalski and Gzyl added two assists each while Joe Furhman added another. Dave Stefaniak was in net.


Gowanda ‘Learn to Ski’

signups set for Nov. 25

The Gowanda Recreation Department will hold their final signup for their ‘Learn to Ski’ program at Holiday Valley, on Monday, Nov. 25, from 6-7:30 p.m., in the Village Board Room, located at 27 East Main Street.

Students in grades 5-12 from Gowanda – and surrounding school districts – are welcome to join the eight-week program, which will run on Sundays.

Gowanda Football Open House set for Nov. 30

The Gowanda VFW will host a Football Open House on Saturday, Nov. 30, from 6 to 10 p.m.

Former Gowanda high school and youth football coaches, players, cheerleaders, majorettes, team managers, statisticians and their guests are invited to attend.

The special event will unveil the book, “Through The Eyes Of A Panther: The History of Gowanda Football 19961-1992.” The open house will also include Gowanda football memorabilia and viewing of game films from as far back as 1963. Complimentary refreshments will be served.
