SUNY?Fredonia awards scholarships

Scholarships for the 2013-14 academic year were awarded to outstanding students at the State University of New York (SUNY) at Fredonia.

Ashley Ellis of Cattaraugus received a $450 Waring Family Work Ethic Scholarship. A 2009 graduate of Cattaraugus-Little Valley High School, Ashley is a senior majoring in political science. She is the daughter of William and Tammy Ellis.

Patrick Miller of Rotterdam received an $800 Greg and Linda Prechtl Scholarship. A 2009 graduate of Schoharie Central School, Patrick is a senior majoring in sport management, with a minor in athletic coaching. He is the son of Deborah Miller.

Alexander Rodriguez of Sherburne received a $1,000 Foundation Academic Scholarship Award. A 2012 graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School, Alexander is a freshman majoring in communication, with a concentration in video production. He is the son of Mike and Megan Rodriguez.

Chelsea Lapp of Westfield received a $450 Charles H. Patrick Jr. Memorial Scholarship, given to a full-time, non-traditional student from SUNY Fredonia. A 2011 graduate of Westfield Academy and Central School, Chelsea is a junior majoring in Criminal Justice and Psychology. She is the daughter of Edward and Rebecca Evanoff and Christopher and April Lapp.

Jacob M. Calabrese of Rochester received the Award for Spatial Studies for $850. A graduate of Greece Athena High School, Jacob is a senior majoring in Environmental Sciences. He is the son of Joseph and Darlene Calabrese.
