Fredonia Elementary Chorus concerts planned for December

The Fredonia Elementary Music Department will hold its annual Winter Concert on Dec. 10 at 9:30 a.m. and 7 p.m. in the Fredonia Central Schools District Auditorium.

You will hear musical selections performed by the 3rd grade, 4th grade, and Select Chorus members.

There will be an additional concert performed by the 2nd grade chorus students on Dec. 13 at 1:30 p.m. in the FCSD Auditorium, with a special appearance by the 1st grade chorus students.

Admission is free and open to the public.

Stockton Board to hold holiday lighting contest

The town of Stockton Planning Board is holding a townwide community Christmas lighting contest, including the village of Cassadaga.

There is no entry fee. Applications are available at the Stockton and Cassadaga Library and at the town clerk’s office.

Applications must be returned by Dec. 19 to the Stockton Town Hall or the Stockton and Cassadaga Library building, or the book drop-off.

Contest judging will take place at 6 p.m. on or after Dec. 23.

Vietnam Veterans of America 459 to meet

The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chautauqua County Chapter 459, will meet on Dec. 15 at 11 a.m. at the John T. Murray Post 1017 on Deer Street in Dunkirk. All Vietnam and Vietnam-era personnel are invited. Call 366-2287 for more information.

Gowanda sponsoring Christmas drive

The Cops, Community, Kids and Christmas Toy and Clothing Drive will held in the village, sponsored by the Gowanda Police Depart-ment in cooperation with the Gowanda Central School and the community. Residents are encouraged to donate a new toy, clothing, gift certificate, decorations, etc., and share the warmth and joy of the holiday season.

Donations can be dropped off at the following locations in the village: the police department, 27 E. Main St.; Community Bank, 76 W. Main St.; American Legion Post 409, 100 Legion Drive; Jesse’s Toy Box, 53 W. Main St.; and the Gowanda Central School main offices. For more information, contact officer Jen Alessi at 913-1143.
