Hanford Bay railroad crossing closed Tuesday

The Hanford Bay CSX railroad crossing will be closed for repairs Tuesday, Dec. 3 and will reopen Wednesday, Dec. 4. The access road will be open.

Hospice tree lighting ceremony Friday

The Brocton Hospice Light a Life Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Friday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. in the Village Commons.

Lily Dale Holiday Bazaar to be held Saturday

Lily Dale Children’s Acre will be participating in the Lily Dale Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lily Dale Fire Hall, where they will celebrate “The Joy of Giving.” Children and families are welcome at this all-ages event.

There will be a table for children to make holiday crafts, baked goods and more. Donations of non-perishable food items and gently used toys will be accepted and distributed to local charities. Donations of pet food and items will also be appreciated. Four-legged family members can appreciate the holidays, too. Come and see all of the other Lily Dale organizations’ wonderful holiday items and crafts for sale.

PAYCHEX Inc. free Health Care Reform seminar Dec. 11

Johnson, Mackowiak & Associates, LLP is sponsoring a free Health Care Reform seminar presented by Paychex, Inc. on Dec. 11 at 9 a.m. at the SUNY Fredonia Technology Incubator located in Dunkirk.

At the seminar, Paychex will present information on the major components of Health Care Reform and how it affects your business. Additional topics will also include, recent changes to NYS minimum wages laws, and unemployment and labor compliances regulations.

This event is free and open to the general business community including, but not limited to, business owners and employers of all sizes. Seating is limited. Interested parties should register no later than Dec. 9. Refreshments will be provided.
