Jamestown man hit by motor vehicle
CARROLL – A Jamestown man was taken to the hospital following a car-pedestrian accident Friday evening. According to the Chautauqua County Sheriff’s Office, Darrell Greene, 52, of Hopkins Avenue was struck by an eastbound vehicle on Route 62 at 5:16 p.m. Greene was in the eastbound lane directing traffic for a U-Haul trailer that was being extracted from a ditch on the west side of the road. He was struck by a vehicle operated by Susan A. Burns, 62, of Rock Hill, S.C. Greene was not apparently visible to Burns until the moment before the accident occurred. Greene was flown to Hamot Hospital in Erie, Pa., for apparent non life-threatening injuries. The investigation is continuing.

Lucy M. Warmbrodt, 23, of Frazier Street, Dunkirk was charged with driving while intoxicated with a blood alcohol content of .08 percent or higher and speeding on Thursday. At 2:40 a.m. deputies stopped a vehicle on Route 5 in the city of Dunkirk for allegedly speeding. During the traffic stop, Warmbrodt was found to be allegedly intoxicated. She was released to appear in Dunkirk City Court at a later date.
NORTH HARMONY – Chance W. Blanchard, 26, of Mayville was charged with second-degree harassment and endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday. At 8:16 p.m. deputies and K-9 patrol took Blanchard into custody on Morris Road on an active warrant for the town of Chautauqua. Blanchard was arraigned in Chautauqua Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail in lieu of bail.
CLYMER – Curtis W. Irion, 36, of Butler, Pa., was charged with second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and unlawful possession of marijuana on Friday. At 5:36 p.m. deputies stopped Irion’s vehicle on Route 474 for alleged traffic violations. During this stop it was found Irion allegedly had an unregistered handgun and a small quantity of marijuana inside the vehicle. He was arraigned in Sherman Town Court and sent to the Chautauqua County Jail without bail.
