WCA Home’s ‘Gently Used Christmas Sale’ scheduled Saturday
The WCA Home Friends Auxiliary will hold the Gently Used Christmas Sale on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in its front parlors.
This shopping experience offers community members the chance to purchase holiday decorations, ornaments, tableware, Christmas trees, nativity sets and more at a fraction of what they would cost new. Lily Dale Holiday Bazaar Saturday
Lily Dale Children’s Acre will take part in the Lily Dale Holiday Bazaar Satur-day from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lily Dale Fire Hall, where they will celebrate “The Joy of Giving.” Child-ren and families are welcome at this all-ages event.
There will be a table for children to make holiday crafts, baked goods and more. Donations of non-perishable food items and gently used toys will be accepted and distributed to local charities. Donations of pet food and items will also be appreciated. Four-legged family members can appreciate the holidays, too.
Hospice tree lighting ceremony Friday
The Brocton Hospice Light a Life Tree Lighting Ceremony will be held Friday at 6 p.m. in the Village Commons.
You can visit ‘Ancient Bethlehem’ Saturday
at Forestville United Methodist Church
The Forestville United Methodist Church will host “A Night in Ancient Beth-lehem” Saturday from 6 to 8 p.m. During their visit, guests can taste, see, and smell what ancient Beth-lehem was like in the time when Jesus was born. This is a free event, and everyone is welcome. The church is located at 3 Park St.
Literacy Volunteers’ book sale Saturday
The Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County will hold a book sale on Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 21 East Bookstore, 21 E. Second St. and Washington Ave., Dunkirk. Shoppers should use the Washington Ave. entrance. Paperbacks are 50 cents; hardcovers are $1. Some books are specially priced. Books make great holiday gifts! Proceeds help the Literacy Volunteers of Chautauqua County continue their non-profit work in the community.

St. Peter’s to offer ‘Blue Christmas’
services on Thursdays
St. Peter’s Episcopal Church will offer special “Blue Christmas” services this season. On Thursday nights, Dec. 5, 12 and 19 at 7 p.m., those who have a difficult time with the holidays can find comfort and solace at St. Peter’s.
These services offer light and hope to those for whom Christmas hurts – when it does NOT feel like the most wonderful time of the year, and when “rejoicing” is hard work.
St. Peter’s is located at 12 Elm St. in Westfield. All those who are struggling, grieving, lonely or in need of comfort this holiday season are more than welcome.
Murray Hose Christmas party Saturday
Murray Hose 4 of Dun-kirk will hold its Christmas party on Saturday at the Dog House (Kosciuszko Club). Cocktails are at 5:30 p.m.; dinner at 6:30 p.m. Cost is $10 per person. For information, call Bob Penkaty at 366-3845.
South Dayton Holiday Craft Show & Turkey Biscuit Lunch Saturday
The South Dayton Holiday Craft Show & Turkey Biscuit Lunch will be held at the South Dayton Firemen’s Activity Hall at 34 Maple St. on Saturday. A craft show will run from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Santa visits from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (bring your camera for pictures); and the turkey biscuit lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The cost for lunch is $7 for adults and $5 for children.
