Joseph Francis Riforgiato 81 years old of the Chautauqua County Home of Dunkirk, and formerly of Brocton, passed away after an extended illness Friday afternoon (December 6, 2013) with his loving family by his side.
Joseph was born October 9, 1932 in Portland and was the son of the late Joseph (Jake) and Jessie Sinare Riforgiato. He lived here his entire life.
Joe was employed and worked in Construction with Union 967. Joseph also served his country in The United States Navy. He was a member of St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church of Brocton, The Dunkirk Irondequoit Ma-sonic Lodge of Dunkirk, and The American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton. He enjoyed gardening, wood working and spending time in nature.
He is survived by one son Kenneth (Kim) Riforgiato of Brocton, two daughters; Deneen Riforgiato of Brocton, and Mrs. Brenda (Richard) McCutcheon of Ripley; 8 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren; two sisters Nancy (Michael) Wozniak of Depew, and Josie Murphy of Brocton; and several nieces and nephews.
Joseph was predeceased by one son Allan Joseph Riforgiato and one brother Anthony Riforgiato.
Funeral Services will be held at St. Dominic’s Roman Catholic Church on Monday Dec. 9, 2013 at 10 a.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Joseph Walters.
Interment will be at Port-land Evergreen Cemetery in Portland New York. Full Military Honors will be conducted by The American Legion John W Dill Post 434 of Brocton. Friends are invited to call at The Morse Funeral Home, 51 Highland Ave. in Brocton, New York on Sunday Dec. 8 from 4 to 8 p.m.
