The Fredonia Hillbillies and the Dunkirk Marauders were so evenly matched Monday, both the boys and girls teams battled to a 2-2 tie.
In the boys’ match, Fredonia’s linescore read 815-984-894-2,693 while Dunkirk shot a 956-880-861-2,697 at Lucky Lanes.
High rollers for Fredonia were Collin Schanzlin with a 226-561 and Ricky Burgstrom with a 225-557. Jeff Rowe had a 201-553 and Nick Pagano charted a 208 game for the Hillbillies.
The Marauders were led by Brandon Haase’s 221-574 and Peter Kubera’s 224. Seamus Raynor had a 222 and Casey Surma charted a 201 game.
In the girls’ match, Fredonia finished with a 732-841-772-2,345 and Dunkirk combined for a 778-708-795-2,281.
The Lady Hillbillies were led by Elizabeth Valvo’s 182-191-522 and Genna Riddle shot a 194.
For Dunkirk, Caty Chase cracked a 170-501 and Hannah Schnur had a 180. Adrianna Pencek rolled a 170 and Ally Clement had a 175.
Fredonia travels to Frewsburg on Wednesday and Dunkirk travels to Falconer.
Lady Hornets sweep, boys fall 3-1
CUTTING – The Forestville Lady Hornets (4-0) took care of Clymer (4-4, 4-0, Monday in girls high school bowling. Meanwhile, Forestville boys fell to Clymer, 3-1.
Forestville’s linescore read 511-528-549-1,588 compared to Clymer’s 477-444-531-1,471 at Cutting Lanes.
The Lady Hornets were led by Sarah Pleva’s 168-160-166-494 and Shawntai LeBarron’s 154-420.
The Lady Pirates received a 156-422 from Janelle Ingalls while Jill McIntyre cracked a 155-416.
In the boys’ match, Clymer (6-1-1) prevailed 3-1. Its linescore read 889-835-772-2,522 while the Hornets combined for a 845-767-879-2,520.
David Applebee led the Pirates with a 177-177-170-524 while Braydon Dobson charted a 211-164-139-514.
The Hornets were led by Brad Dillenburg’s 241-155-214-610 and John Murphy’s 177-148-166-491.
Black?Knights blank Bulldogs
SILVER CREEK – The Silver Creek Black Knights boys’ bowling team (4-4) bounced back, after getting shutout by Randolph in their opening match last week, with a 4-0 victory Monday over the Brocton Bulldogs (1-7) at Lakeview Lanes.
As a team, Silver Creek rolled a 912-841-942-2,695. Robert Paterson led the Black Knights with a high game of 265 to go with a 599 series. Tim Manning’s 213-210-564 and Tyler Steklasa’s 196-503 also contributed to the win. All five of Silver Creek’s bowlers turned in a series above 500.
The Bulldogs bowled 810-785-716-2,311 in the loss. Mark Nickerson’s 192-167-529 led Brocton while Anthony Miller chipped in a 204-179-522.
Silver Creek’s next match is Thursday against Chautauqua Lake at Cutting Lanes in Clymer.
