Westfield baseball spaghetti dinner

The Westfield Wolverines varsity baseball team will host a spaghetti dinner Jan. 5 from 3-6 p.m. at the Westfield Methodist Church.

Take outs are available. Adult tickets are $8, children $6 and senior citizens $6. Tickets can be bought from all baseball players or at the door.

Proceeds go to Westfield Baseball and to help with the Mingo Bay Tournament in South Carolina this April.

Southern Tier Bills Booster Club

The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will watch the Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday at the Kosciuszko Club.

Rigatoni and tossed salad will be provided at halftime. Members may bring a dish to pass.

NCCS Basketball Tournament

Northern Chautauqua Catholic School will be holding its 12th annual “Peg” Smith basketball tournament Dec. 12-15 at the school on Washington Ave. in Dunkirk.

More than 20 Parochial and public school teams (boys and girls grades 4 through 8) from Dunkirk, Fredonia, Jamestown, Irving, Hamburg, Orchard Park and Buffalo will be competing in four divisions.

Chances will be sold for Buffalo Sabres memorabilia, a signed Buffalo Bills helmet, club-level Sabres tickets and more.

There will also be Chinese auction-style gift baskets. Foul shooting prizes and 50/50 raffles will also take place. Entrance to the games is free of charge. For a complete listing of the games, please visit the NCCS website at ncc-athletics@nccschool.us.

Men’s Adult Hockey meeting

The Adult Men’s Floor Hockey League sponsored by the City of Dunkirk’s Recreation Department has scheduled its organizational meeting today at 6 p.m. in the second floor conference room at City Hall.

League rules, schedules, playoffs and starting date will be decided at this meeting. Games will be played at the Recreation Center in the Chautauqua County Fairgrounds. For additional information, contact the Recreation Office at 366-9885.

Adult Basketball meeting

The Adult Basketball League sponsored by the City of Dunkirk’s Recreation Department has scheduled its organizational meeting today at 7 p.m. in the second floor conference room at City Hall.

Youth Hockey

NCCYHA Squirt Division

Bradford 7, Fredonia 3

Alex Rush had two goals and an assist while Ikaika Wojcinski had one goal and a helper in a losing effort.

Anthony Fitzgerald helped the cause with two assists and Aden Wilmore added one. Trevor Persch was a defensive standout and Alex Paluch earned the team hard hat for his efforts.

Fredonia 3 Cazenovia 2

Fredonia was led in scoring once again by Alex Rush, who netted two goals, followed by Alex Paluch who had one. Ikaika Wojcinski had two assists while Matt Lotter had one helper. Simon Davis played well defensively and Kam Mages earned the team hard hat for the hardest worker on the ice.
