HHSC Competes

at Niagara Swim

League Meet

The Hammerhead Swim Club had 24 swimmers attend a Niagara Swim League meet at East Aurora High School on Saturday, Dec. 7. Swimming in his first meet with HHSC was Josiah Cox.

HHSC swimmers had nine first-place, six second-place, six-third place and a total of 49 top-10 finishes at the meet. There was one new silver time and a total of 43 personal-best times achieved.

Announcements

Westfield Baseball to Host Spaghetti Dinner

The Westfield Wolverines varsity baseball team will host a spaghetti dinner Jan. 5 from 3-6 p.m. at the Westfield Methodist Church.

Take outs are available. Adult tickets are $8, children $6 and senior citizens $6. Tickets can be bought from all baseball players or at the door.

Proceeds go to Westfield Baseball and to help with the Mingo Bay Tournament in South Carolina this April.

Southern Tier

Bills Booster Club

The Southern Tier Bills Booster Club will watch the Buffalo Bills vs. Jacksonville Jaguars game on Sunday at the Kosciuszko Club.

Rigatoni and tossed salad will be provided at halftime. Members may bring a dish to pass.

NCCS Basketball Tournament

Northern Chautauqua Catholic School will be holding its 12th annual “Peg” Smith basketball tournament Dec. 12-15 at the school on Washington Avenue in Dunkirk.

More than 20 Parochial and public school teams (boys and girls grades 4 through 8) from Dunkirk, Fredonia, Jamestown, Irving, Hamburg, Orchard Park and Buffalo will be competing in four divisions.

Chances will be sold for Buffalo Sabres memorabilia, a signed Buffalo Bills helmet, club-level Sabres tickets and more.

There will also be Chinese auction-style gift baskets. Foul shooting prizes and 50/50 raffles will also take place. Entrance to the games is free of charge. For a complete listing of the games, please visit the NCCS website at ncc-athletics@nccschool.us.

Fredonia Boys Basketball to Air Tonight

The Prince Alfred vs. Fredonia boys varsity basketball game will air tonight, beginning at 7:15 p.m., on Cable Access Channel 5 in Fredonia and Channel 19 in Dunkirk.

Ed Eaker will have the call of the game with color commentary provided by Greg Krauza.
