Ahira Library to organize writers’ group

The Town of Portland’s Ahira Hall Memorial Library, located in Brocton, is planning to host a writers’ group after the holidays. Any and all are invited to join. “The Art of Family History” will be the first writing adventure and the group’s focus will be to offer support and encouragement in painting one’s family history with words.

Skill level in writing and genealogy doesn’t matter, since all members want to learn, explore, document the present and re-create the past. This is a wonderful opportunity to continue, revisit or start on a writing path. Host and published author George Clever will be helping the group explore self- and e-publishing (of any genre) as well. This will be a comfortable and productive group open to discussion about what direction and pace the members wish to pursue. The Wednesday Writers’ Group will meet every other Wednesday at 6 p.m. beginning Jan. 8.

January is “Resolution Time.” Join others to kick off the year by remembering and documenting years past. Ahira Hall Memorial Library can be reached at 792-9418. It is located at 37 W. Main St. in Brocton. Interested writers can also make contact by email ad.ahml@hotmail.com.
