Mr. and Mrs. Timothy Rektorik, Jr.
Krista Therese Minnick and Timothy Edward Rektorik, Jr., were united in marriage on June 29, 2013, in a double-ring ceremony at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Gowanda, NY. The Nuptial Mass was officiated by the Rev. Daniel Walsh, pastor emeritus, with Deacon Ronald Reger, of the Diocese of Richmond, Va., assisting. Music was provided by organist Sarah Steffan, along with violinist, Zachary McHale and vocalist, Mary Starkey.
The bride is the daughter of Richard and Maureen Minnick of Collins and granddaughter of Shirley Minnick of New Albion. The groom is the son of Timothy E. Rektorik, Sr. and Debra Rektorik, both of Hamburg, and grandson of Roy Christ of Hudson, Fla, formerly of the town of Tonawanda.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her gown featured a pleated, sculpted, standaway bodice with sparkling beading at the strapless neckline. Pleats wrapped around the asymmetrical fitted bodice with a corset back. Looped embellishments on the corset accentuated the gathered empress satin cathedral train. She carried a bouquet of purple and white calla lilies.
The bride was attended by maid of honor, Jacqueline Stachowiak; and bridesmaids Elizabeth Rektorik, sister of the groom; Elizabeth Gearhart, cousin of the bride; Betsy Johnson and Laura Williams, friends of the bride. Madelyn Christ, cousin of the groom, was the flower girl.
The best man was Christopher Mazgaj, friend of the groom. Groomsmen included Gregory Conley, Marc Karas, Nicholas Quinn, all friends of the groom; and Matthew Minnick, brother of the bride. Jacob Gearhart, cousin of the bride, served as the ring bearer.
A pre-reception gathering was hosted by Peter and Mary Ann Starkey, godparents of the bride, at their home in Hamburg immediately following the ceremony.
The evening reception was held at Ilio DiPaolo’s Banquet Center in Blasdell.
The bride is a graduate of Immaculata Academy, Erie Community College, and UB School of Nursing. She is a Registered Nurse who works for the Catholic Health System at Mercy Hospital in the Open Heart unit.
The groom is a graduate of Frontier High School and Erie Community College. He is employed by Rose Micro Solutions.
The couple honeymooned at The Omphoy Ocean Resort in Palm Beach, Fla., and now reside at their home in Lakeview.
