Fredonia Fire Department run report for October

The Fredonia Fire Department reported going on 150 runs in October, with 105 of those EMS/rescue runs, 20 false alarms, eight hazardous conditions, six good intent calls, five service calls, five fires and one explosion/rupture/overheat call.

Ninety of the calls were in the village, 30 were in the town of Pomfret, 23 were at SUNY Fredonia, four were mutual assistance calls and three were on the New York State Thruway.

Registration open for ice skating classes at Fredonia

Ice skating classes are being offered at SUNY Fredonia’s Steele Hall. Beginner skaters and advanced skaters are welcome. Classes run for 10 weeks, and there are two different series to choose from. Sunday afternoon classes at 1 p.m. start Jan. 5. Tuesday night classes at 6:15 p.m. start Jan. 14. The cost for each series is $90, with a recital at the classes’ conclusion.
