FHS Winter Concert tonight

The Fredonia High School Music Department will be holding its annual Winter Concert today at 7 p.m. in the Fredonia Central Schools District Auditorium.

Musical selections will be performed by the Jazz Ensemble, Madrigals, String Orchestra, Chamber Choir, Symphonic Band, and Combined Ensembles.

Admission is free and the event is open to the public.

North Collins Board of Ed. meets tonight

The North Collins Board of Education will hold a regular meeting tonight at 6:30 in the Jr. Sr. High School Library Media Center.

Perrysburg to hold special meeting

The Perrysburg Town Board will host a special year end meeting on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will take place at the town hall at 10460 Peck Hill Road.

Red Cross responds to fire in Sheridan

Members of the Southwestern NY American Red Cross Disaster Team responded to provide disaster relief following a house fire at 3031 Whitaker Road in the town of Sheridan Sunday afternoon.

Disaster Team volunteer Mary Walker responded to provide initial disaster assistance for a family of three. Temporary housing, clothing and meals are services typically offered to address emergency needs.

The fire was apparently caused by a wood stove in the basement.

The local Red Cross chapter will continue working with the individuals and their recovery process if additional services or referrals are necessary.

All disaster assistance offered by the American Red Cross is complimentary and made possible by generous contributions from the American people and residents of Chautauqua County.

The American Red Cross is a United Way Community Partner.

Silver Creek holiday concert rescheduled

The Silver Creek High School holiday concert that was canceled due to inclement weather has been rescheduled for Thursday at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. It will be combined with the middle school concert.

SWCD to meet Thursday

The Chautauqua County Soil and Water Conservation District Director’s regular meeting will be held Thursday. The meeting will start at 10 a.m. at the Frank W. Bratt Ag Center, 3542 Turner Road, Jamestown.

Forestville holiday event rescheduled

The Forestville Christmas Parade and visit from Santa have been rescheduled for Saturday.

Parade lineup begins at noon and will start marching from the front of Forestville High School and end at the fire hall on Chestnut Street.

Santa will be waiting at the fire hall beginning at 1 p.m.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three floats or participants and the best-decorated house in Forestville.
