CASAC offers ‘Exploring Prevention Ethics’

JAMESTOWN – “Exploring Prevention Ethics P105” is a training which will be offered through the Chautauqua Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Council. This training will provide participants with an understanding of the NYS Code of Ethical Conduct for Prevention Practitioners and an ethical decision-making model that helps prevention practitioners make ethical decisions for common ethical prevention dilemmas.

“Exploring Prevention Ethics” will be presented by Julie Franco, CPP, OASAS Faculty today from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This six-hour course, is scheduled to be offered at the CASAC Jamestown Office, 501 W. Third St., Suites 3 & 4, Sprinchorn Building, Jamestown.

CASAC training offerings are suitable for community members who are aspiring to learn more about addictions and other related topics to improve their lives and the lives of others.

This course is also for those seeking professional credentialing as a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor, Credentialed Prevention Professional or Credentialed Prevention Specialist. The 6 hours are approved by the New York State Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services CASAC, (Section 3)/ CPP & CPS (Section 2). This course work is also recognized and approved by the Pennsylvania Certification Board through reciprocity.

The Council offers a number of professional training opportunities throughout the year. Individualized on-site training, depending upon staff needs, is available. All trainings can be designed either as an in-service training, conference or workshop.

The fee is $60 and pre-registration is required. Community members interested in the topic are welcome and encouraged to attend.
