Tripp tourney salutes assistance

The Gary Tripp Memorial Golf Tournament committee is very thankful at this special time of the year. They are thankful for the many family members who made it possible to carry on a tradition of keeping Gary’s memory alive. He is dearly missed by his family and friends.

The tournament was held Sept. 14 at Shorewood Country Club for the fifth year. Family committee members who donated countless hours, food, prizes and experience include Patty Tripp, Fred Tripp, Terri Tripp Helwig, Steve Helwig, Jim and Dru Pasierb, Jane Russo, Katie Lemiszko, Jessica Pasierb Moore, Nancy and Frank Flitt, Mike and Alana Flitt, Stacy Flitt and Eric Flitt.

It also takes 101 golfers to make the tournament successful. Each golfer was presented with a gift package of golf balls, tees, and a logo-printed t-shirt created by Tony Guido.

Congratulations go out to the winning team, made up of Mike Porpiglia, Bret Schafer, Gary Leber and Ken Green. Thanks also go out to the Shorewood Country Club staff, including Renee Johnson, manager; Vinnie Buglia, golf pro; David Winchell Jr., chef; and Chad Bradigan, steward.

The tournament cannot happen without the many volunteers who run errands, provide assistance with registration and at special holes, prepare food for dinner, serve food and clean up after the event.
