Southwestern-Frewsburg swims past DFF, 127-58
The Dunkirk-Forestville-Fredonia boys’ swimming team fell to Frewsburg-Southwestern, 127-58, Monday in a CCAA boys high school swimming and diving meet.
Frewsburg-Southwestern dominated the meet by winning 10 out of 12 total events.
Peter Kubera was DFF’s lone individual winner, coming in first place on the diving board with 213.07 points. DFF’s other first-place finish came in the 200-meter medley relay. Duke Medena, Morghon Thompson, Trystan Meyer and William Bradley combined for the victory in a time of 1:48.32.
DFF had another strong showing in the 400 freestyle relay as Meyer, Thompson, William Bradley and Matt Zevenburgen teamed to take second place.
Zevenburgen and Thompson each had individual second-place finishes to go with their success in the relays. Zevenburgen took second in the 500 freestyle while Thompson finished second in the 100 breaststroke. Thompson touched a mere two hundredths of a second behind the first-place finisher. Andrew Saye finished right behind Thompson in third to give DFF one of its strongest finishes of any event.
